A first capacity building seminar for staff members of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is to be held in Strasbourg on 15 and 16 September 2014. Twenty participants will exchange experiences with different departments of the Council of Europe focussing on the activities of the Council related to Ukrainian reforms.
The seminar will include presentations on the role of the Parliamentary Assembly and its activities in favour of Ukraine, the structure and function of the European Court of Human Rights and the role of the Human Rights Commissioner. The activities of the Department for the Execution of Judgments, the Venice Commission and GRECO will also be highlighted.
