A four-member delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), led by Doris Fiala (Switzerland, ALDE), will carry out a pre-electoral mission to Sofia on 18-19 September to assess the election campaign and political climate prior to the early parliamentary elections in Bulgaria on 5 October.
The delegation is due to meet the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister, parliamentary groups and representatives of registered parties and coalitions.
Meetings are also planned with the Chairperson of the Constitutional Court, the Chairperson of the Central Election Commission and with representatives of the international community, NGOs and the media.
A full 20-member delegation from the Assembly will return to the country to observe the voting.

The delegation will give a press conference on Friday 19 September at 3 pm at the Sheraton Hotel (Rila Hall), 5, Sveta Nedelya Square, Sofia.
