PACE delegation to make fact-finding visit to “the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia”

A delegation of the Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), composed of Stefan Schennach (Austria, SOC), Robert Walter (United Kingdom, EC) and Andreas Gross (Switzerland, SOC) will conduct a fact-finding to “the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia” on 28-29 April, to discuss the current political crisis following the parliamentary and presidential elections of April 2014.

During its visit, the delegation will to meet the Prime Minister, the Speaker of Parliament, the Minister of Justice, the Constitutional Affairs Committee and the delegation of “the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia” to PACE. Talks are also scheduled with leaders of political parties, the Prosecutor General and with representatives of NGOs, the media, international organisations and the diplomatic community.

Robert Walter, PACE rapporteur for post-monitoring dialogue with this country is due to hold further meetings on 29 April with Deputy Prime Minister responsible for the implementation of the Ohrid Framework Agreement, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of the Interior and the Minister responsible for the reform of public administration.
