PACE delegation on pre-electoral visit to Serbia

A delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), comprising five members and headed by Volodymyr Ariev (Ukraine, EPP/CD), will make a pre-electoral visit to the Republic of Serbia from 4 to 6 April 2016 to assess the electoral campaign and the political climate prior to the early parliamentary elections on 24 April.

In Belgrade the delegation is due to meet the President of the National Assembly, the Prime Minister and the Minister of the Interior (to be confirmed), the leaders and representatives of parliamentary groups represented in the National Assembly, the President of the Central Electoral Commission as well as representatives of the international community, NGOs and the media.

The delegation will publish a statement at the end of its visit on Wednesday 6 April.

A full delegation comprising 22 members of the Assembly will subsequently travel to Serbia to observe the elections.
