An 11-member delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), led by Ian Liddell-Grainger (United Kingdom, EC), will travel to Morocco from 5 to 8 October, at the invitation of its authorities, to observe the conduct of the parliamentary elections.
The delegation will meet the Chairpersons of the parliamentary groups of the House of Representatives, representatives of the Ministry of Interior in charge of the election administration, the President of the National Council of Human Rights, the President of the High Authority of the Audiovisual Communication, as well as representatives of the international community, civil society and the media, before observing the ballot on 7 October.
PACE granted Partner for Democracy Status to the Moroccan Parliament on 21 June 2011 with a view to establishing institutional co-operation.
