PACE delegation makes pre-electoral visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina

A five-member delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), headed by Dame Cheryl Gillan (United Kingdom, EC), is to make a pre-electoral visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina from 19 to 21 September 2018 to assess the election campaign and political climate ahead of the 7 October general elections.

In Sarajevo, the delegation is due to meet the head and members of the Central Election Commission, as well as representatives of the different parties or parliamentary groups and representatives of civil society, the media, other international organisations and the diplomatic corps. The parliamentarians will also meet representatives of parliamentary groups, media and NGOs in Banja Luka.

The delegation is due to publish a statement at the end of its visit. A full delegation will travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina to observe the elections on 7 October.
