Andrej Hunko (Germany, UEL) and Joseph O’Reilly (Ireland, EPP/CD), co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) for the monitoring of obligations and commitments by Albania, will make a fact-finding visit to Tirana from 28 to 30 October 2019.
Discussions will mainly focus on the current political crisis, the reform of the judiciary, the follow-up to local elections, the fight against corruption and media freedom.
In Tirana, Mr Hunko and Mr O’Reilly are due to meet, in particular, the Prime Minister, the Speaker of the Parliament, members of the private office of the President of the Republic, leaders of political parties, the judicial authorities, and representatives of the Central Election Commission, the international community and civil society.
