The overall winner of the 2020 Václav Havel Human Rights Prize - which honours outstanding human rights defenders in Europe or beyond - is to be announced during the award ceremony which takes place on the opening day of the PACE spring session.

Loujain Alhathloul (Saudi Arabia), a leader of the Saudi feminist movement, recently released from prison.
The nuns of the Drukpa Order (Nepal), a group of young Buddhist nuns who promote equality, sustainability and tolerance in their home villages in the Himalayas.
Julienne Lusenge (Democratic Republic of Congo), a human rights activist who has been documenting sexual abuse and acts of violence against women in Congo, despite frequent threats to her life.
The award ceremony will be streamed live in six languages via the website of the Assembly on Monday 19 April, beginning at 12.30pm CET.
