Rik Daems, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), will make a working visit to Budapest from 26 to 28 May, during which he will hold a series of high-level meetings, in particular with the President of the Republic, the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Minister of Justice and the Minister for Family Affairs.
He will also meet the Hungarian delegation to PACE chaired by Zsolt Németh (Hungary, EC/AD) and the Ministerial Commissioner responsible for the furthering of international relations in connection with the priorities associated with Hungary's presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
On 27 May, Mr Daems will take part in a round table on “Environment and Human Rights” at the European Youth Centre Budapest (EYCB), which will bring together young people and representatives of Hungarian NGOs active in the field of environmental rights and climate change.
On 28 May, President Daems will open the meeting of the PACE Standing Committee, organised by videoconference, together with Levente Magyar, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade.
