Rik Daems, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), will make a visit to Finland on 16-17 September, during which he will hold a series of high-level meetings, in particular with the Speaker of Parliament, the Foreign Minister, parliamentarians, the Chairperson and members of the Finnish delegation to PACE, as well as leading officials.
Discussions will focus, in particular, on current challenges in the areas of human rights, democracy and the rule of law in Europe today, including environment and human rights, and the paradigm shift from considering environment as a policy to environment as a human right.
