In the framework of the project "Support to the development of the role of the Parliament in consolidating democracy in Morocco 2020-2023", financed by the European Union and implemented by the Council of Europe, the Chamber of Councillors of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) are organising a round table on the evaluation of public policies entitled "Youth policies: preparation and integration of young people to active life" on 30 March 2022 at the headquarters of the Chamber of Councillors, in Rabat.
The event will be attended by the Chair and members of the Provisional Thematic Working Group in charge of preparing the annual session of evaluation of youth policies, the Presidents of the parliamentary groups and coordinators of the parliamentary groups, the Chair of the PACE Sub-Committee on the Middle East and the Arab World and member of the Greek Parliament, a member of the Finnish Parliament, the Head of the Co-operation Section of the European Union in Rabat, the Head of the Council of Europe Office in Morocco and representatives of Moroccan civil society organisations.
Academics and experts from Morocco and several European countries will present Moroccan and European experiences of public policies on youth. This round table will also allow the members of the thematic working group and the officials of the Chamber of Councillors to exchange with their counterparts, European parliamentarians, PACE members and international experts on good practices and methodological aspects.
The project "Support to the development of the role of the Parliament in consolidating democracy in Morocco" has three main axes: to support the Moroccan Parliament's efforts to effectively monitor and evaluate public policies, to accompany the opening of the Parliament to citizens, civil society and other partners in order to effectively promote and support participatory democracy in Morocco, and to strengthen inter-parliamentary dialogue.
This project is implemented in accordance with the co-operation priorities and specific needs of Morocco, as defined jointly by the Council of Europe and the Moroccan authorities in the framework of the Neighbourhood Partnership with Morocco 2018-2021.
