PACE President Tiny Kox met today, in Lviv, with Verkhovna Rada Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk. The President is visiting Ukraine at the invitation of the Speaker, and is accompanied by the leaders of the Assembly’s five political groups and the Secretary General of the Assembly.
In Lviv they discussed the consequences of the Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine and the best ways that the Council of Europe can support this member State and its citizens.
Part of the discussion was how to help the Ukrainian authorities to investigate the massacre in Bucha and other areas previously occupied by the Russian army.
The President and group leaders also met, among others, with members of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE and the Mayor of Lviv Andriy Sadoviy.
In view of its visit to Ukraine, the delegation met yesterday in the Polish Sejm.
