Alleged breaches of the Code of Conduct for PACE members: committee issues conclusions on complaint concerning Rosianne Cutajar

Rules / Procedure

The Committee on Rules of Procedure, Immunities and Institutional Affairs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), meeting today in Strasbourg, approved and made public a report on a complaint against Rosianne Cutajar (Malta, SOC) concerning alleged breaches of the Code of Conduct for members of the Parliamentary Assembly, and decided to publish the report.

Previously the committee concluded that Ms Cutajar “committed a serious breach of the Code of Conduct” by failing to mention before the Assembly, during the debate on the report on “Daphne Caruana Galizia’s assassination and the rule of law in Malta and beyond” held in June 2019, her professional links with Yorgen Fenech, whose name was included in the report.

In November 2019, Yorgen Fenech was arrested, detained and charged with involvement in the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia.
