PACE delegation makes pre-electoral visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina

A five-member delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), led by Stefan Schennach (Austria, SOC), will make a pre-electoral visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina from 5 to 7 September to assess the election campaign and political climate prior to the general elections on 2 October.

The delegation is due to meet leaders and representatives of parliamentary groups of the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska and the House of Representatives of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as members of the Collegium of the House of Peoples.

Meetings are also scheduled with the Head and members of the Central Election Commission, and representatives of NGOs, the media and the diplomatic community.

The delegation will issue a statement at the end of the visit.

A full delegation will travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina to observe the elections on 2 October.
