Seminar on the evaluation of laws by the parliamentary institution - case of law 103.13 on the fight against violence against women

The House of Representatives of the Parliament of Morocco together with the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) and the Kehl University of Applied Science, will organise a seminar on "The evaluation of laws by the parliamentary institution - The case of law 103.13 on combating violence against women" for the benefit of Members of Parliament and staff members of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Morocco at the Hotel Farah in Rabat, from 26 to 28 October 2022.

The House of Representatives has initiated several actions of evaluation of laws and public policies since the beginning of the new legislature (2021-2026), in particular law 103.13 on combating violence against women. Moroccan and European academics and experts will present Moroccan and European experiences and challenges, with a particular focus on cases of evaluation of laws on violence against women.

This seminar will allow participants to exchange with experts on the international norms and standards related to the fight against violence against women, the methodology of the evaluation of laws, the indicators and the drafting of the work plan and the evaluation report.

The event will be attended by the President and members of the thematic working group on the evaluation of the national law on combating violence against women, the representative of the European Union delegation to Morocco and the Head of the Council of Europe Office in Morocco.

This seminar is part of the joint program "Support to the National Mechanism for the Prevention of Torture in Morocco and to the Development of the Role of Parliament in the Consolidation of Democracy in Morocco 2020-2023" financed by the European Union and implemented by the Council of Europe.
