President to make a working visit to Finland

The President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), Tiny Kox, will make a working visit to Finland on 12-13 January.

He will hold a series of high-level meetings, in particular with the Speaker of Parliament, Matti Vanhanen, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Pekka Haavisto, and the Minister for Education, Li Andersson.

Meetings are also scheduled with the Under-secretary of State for Foreign and Security Policy, Kai Sauer, the Chair of the Finnish delegation to the Nordic Council, Erkki Tuomioja, members of the Finnish delegation to PACE, parliamentarians, and leading officials. Mr Kox will also meet with the former President of Finland, Tarja Halonen.

Discussions will focus on strengthening co-operation between PACE and Finland, as well as on the 4th Council of Europe Summit to be held on 16-17 May 2023 in Reykjavik.
