Stefan Schennach (Austria, SOC), one of the co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) for the monitoring of obligations and commitments by Türkiye, will make a fact-finding visit to Ankara and Istanbul from 11 to 14 June 2024.
During his visit, Mr Schennach will meet political groups and parliamentary committees at the Grand National Assembly, the Türkiye’s delegation to PACE, representatives of the Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, judges at the Constitutional Court and the Court of Cassation, NGOs and the diplomatic community.
Discussions will mainly focus on the latest political and judicial developments in the country, with a focus on implementation of the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights with respect to Osman Kavala.
