Addressing the plenary meeting of the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament (Parlatino), Antonio Gutiérrez Limones (Spain, SOC), stressed the importance of the relationship between the European and Latin American regions, and made a call to relaunch the Cooperation Agreement between the Parliamentary Assembly and the Parlatino. “Together we are stronger and better,” he said, emphasising the importance of interregional dialogue and parliamentary diplomacy.
Mr Gutiérrez Limones, PACE’s rapporteur on strengthening relation between the Council of Europe and Latin America, was visiting the Parlatino on the occasion of its 38th Ordinary Assembly and 60th anniversary.
He also held bilateral meetings with the President of the Parlatino, Rolando Miguel González Patricio, the Secretary General, Juan Martín Rodríguez, and the Executive Secretary, Elías Ariel Castillo González, as well as with members of different national parliamentary assemblies of Latin American countries.
