A five-member delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), led by Iulian Bulai (Romania, ALDE), will make a pre-electoral visit to Poland on 14-15 April to assess the election campaign and political climate prior to the presidential election on 18 May.
In Warsaw, the delegation is due to meet the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Council of Ministers, Deputy Foreign Minister and the Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Digital Affairs, as well as other representatives of the authorities.
Meetings are also scheduled with representatives of presidential candidates, the Deputy Human Rights Commissioner, representatives of the judicial authorities, the Chairperson and members of the National Election Commission, the Head of the OSCE/ODIHR Limited Election Observation Mission, as well as representatives of the diplomatic community, civil society and the media.
The delegation is due to issue a statement at the end of the visit. A full delegation of 32 members will travel to Poland to observe the elections on 18 May.
