On 4 June 2025 Rachid Talbi El Alami, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Morocco, presided over the inauguration of the ‘MediaBox’, a new audiovisual studio designed to enhance parliamentary communication, located in the Moroccan Parliament.

The ceremony was attended by the heads of parliamentary groups, as well as representatives of the European Union, the Council of Europe and its Parliamentary Assembly.

This initiative is part of a joint programme between the European Union and the Council of Europe entitled “Support for the development of the role of Parliament in consolidating democracy in Morocco”, implemented by PACE. It aims to strengthen transparency, openness and access to parliamentary information, in line with Morocco’s constitutional principles.

In their remarks, Patricia Llombart Cussac, the EU's Ambassador to Morocco, and Carmen Morte-Gomez, Head of the Council of Europe Office in Rabat, welcomed the Moroccan Parliament’s commitment to participatory democracy, freedom of expression and professional journalism.

In a video address, PACE President Theodoros Rousopoulos congratulated the Moroccan Parliament on this pioneering project, describing it as "a model of successful institutional co-operation".

Following the ceremony, participants were invited to tour the new studio and explore its key features, designed to support digital transformation and enhance the Parliament’s institutional communication.
