Deborah Bergamini (Italy, EPP/CD) and Yves Cruchten (Luxembourg, SOC), co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) for the post-monitoring dialogue with Bulgaria, will make a fact-finding visit to Sofia on 2-3 July.
They are due to meet the Speaker of the Bulgarian National Assembly, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, of the Interior and of Justice, as well as representatives of parliamentary groups.
Meetings are also scheduled with the Chairperson and members of the Bulgarian delegation to PACE and with representatives of the judicial authorities.
The latest report on the post-monitoring dialogue with Bulgaria adopted by the Monitoring Committee – whose adoption in plenary session was postponed due to the parliamentary elections on 9 June and 27 October 2024 – will be updated following this visit.
