The committee elected Ms Tone Wilhelmsen Trøen (Norway, EPP/CD) as rapporteur on “Media freedom in sport”

The committee has completed its report "Threats to media freedom and journalists’ security in Europe". The Assembly, on this basis, adopted its Resolution 2317 (2020), which calls on the member States of the Council of Europe to create an environment conducive to freedom of the media and prevent the misuse of laws or normative provisions that may affect this freedom, without which there is no democracy.
