Organisation of a further Parliamentary and Scientific Conference

The Assembly,

1. Considering the success of the Third Parliamentary and Scientific Conference which it convened at Lausanne from 11 to 14 April 1972 ;
2. Noting the wish expressed by the conference that an ad hoc committee of conference participants be set up to examine the need for holding a new conference ;
3. Believing that, given the rapid developments likely to take place in the conference's fields of enquiry, preparations for a further conference should begin as soon as possible ;
4. Further believing that the work of the Third Conference should be followed up by holding one or more small colloquies to discuss specific subjects emerging from the conference,
5. Instructs its Committee on Science and Technology to set up an ad hoc committee on which will be represented members of parliament, scientists, scientific administrators, industrialists and trade unionists :
5.1 to prepare and organise a Fourth Parliamentary and Scientific Conference ;
5.2 to prepare and organise a colloquy to be held in 1973 on a specific theme arising from the Third Conference to be decided by the ad hoc committee ;
6. Further instructs its Committee on Science and Technology to report on the results of the colloquy and the conference.
