The Assembly,
1. Recalling its Recommcndation 567 (1969) on "Twenty years of European cultural co-operation" in which it put forward concrete proposals for reactivating such co-operation ;
2. Noting the new initiatives taken at European level by various bodies, both national and international, in the field of education and culture, and being anxious to see the harmonious development of European co-operation among the States that have acceded to the European Cultural Convention ;
3. Noting with regret that the Committee of Ministers lias up to now proved unable to give a constructive reply to the proposals made by the Assembly,
4. Instructs its members, more especially the members of its Committee on Culture and Education and its Committee on Parliamentary and Public Relations, to take the necessary steps for the holding of debates in national parliaments on the rationalisation of European cultural co-operation in the light of the proposals made in its report "Twenty years of European cultural co-operation" (Doc, 2645) and in Recommendation 567 (1969).
