In the draft resolution, replace paragraph 18 with the following paragraph:

"The Assembly considers that the disproportionately severe charges brought by the United States of America against Julian Assange under the Espionage Act, exposing him to a risk of de facto life imprisonment, combined with his conviction and sentencing under the Espionage Act for – what was in essence – newsgathering and publishing, fulfil the criteria set out in Resolution 1900 (2012) "The definition of political prisoner" and warrant the designation of Mr Assange as a political prisoner."
