A 20-member delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), led by Jone Blikra (Norway, SOC), will travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2 to 5 October to observe the conduct of the general elections, alongside observers from the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, European Parliament, NATO Parliamentary Assembly and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).
The delegation will meet, in particular, the Acting High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina, leaders or representatives of political parties standing in the election and the President of the Central Election Commission, as well as representatives of the international community, civil society and the media, before observing the ballot on 4 October.
An expert of the Venice Commission – the Council of Europe's group of independent legal experts – will provide legal support during the visit.
