Strasbourg, 29.08.2008 – Charles Goerens (Luxembourg, ALDE) and Andreas Gross (Switzerland, SOC), co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on Serbia, will make a fact-finding visit to Belgrade on 1-2 September, to take stock of Serbia’s honouring of its obligations and commitments towards the Council of Europe and finalise the report to be debated during the autumn session of the PACE.
Talks are scheduled, particularly with the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister, the Speaker of the National Assembly, the representatives of the parliamentary factions, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Human and Minority Rights. They are also expected to confer with members of the Serbian delegation to PACE and representatives of NGOs, the media and the diplomatic corps.
