Strasbourg, 15.09.2010 – Mevlüt Çavusoglu, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), is to make an official visit to Ukraine from 20 to 22 September 2010.
In Kyiv on Monday 20 and Tuesday 21, he is due to meet President Viktor Yanukovych, the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Lytvyn, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, Foreign Minister Kostyantyn Gryshchenko and the leadership of coalition and opposition factions, as well as NGO representatives.
In Odessa on Wednesday 22, Mr Çavusoglu is due to attend a conference with teachers and students of the Odessa National Law Academy and meet representatives of the local and regional authorities.
A report on “The functioning of democratic institutions in Ukraine” is due to be debated by the Assembly on Tuesday 5 October during its forthcoming plenary session in Strasbourg.
