Strasbourg, 15.05.2012 – “European Museums Night is a unique opportunity for encouraging new groups, especially young people, to visit museums and discover our great common heritage,” said Jean-Claude Mignon, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), today. “This mass event involving European museums and citizens is bound to help build a Europe of culture,” he added.
For the eighth year running, 3 000 museums throughout Europe will be open free of charge on 19 May, from sunset to 1 am. European Museums Night is sponsored by the Council of Europe, UNESCO and the International Council of Museums.
