Strasbourg, 15.04.2013 - Jonathan Evans (United Kingdom, EDG) and Grigore Petrenco (Moldova, UEL), Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) co-rapporteurs on the honouring of obligations and commitments by Albania, are to make a fact-finding visit to Tirana from 17 to 19 April 2013.
They are due to meet the President of the Republic, the Speaker of Parliament, the Prime Minister, the Minister of Justice and several parliamentary committees. Talks are also scheduled with the Albanian delegation to PACE, political party leaders, the Central Election Commission, the Head of the EU Mission in Albania and members of the diplomatic community.
The discussions will focus, in particular, on the preparation of the parliamentary elections, progress regarding Albania’s request for EU candidate status, reform of the media regulatory authority and the issue of minorities.
