Strasbourg, 26.04.2013 – The members of the Sub-Committee on the Middle East of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), chaired by Josette Durrieu (France, SOC), will make a visit to Israel from 30 April to 1 May 2013, thus completing the second part of their visit to the Middle East – they visited Jordan on 6 and 7 April, followed by the Palestinian Territories on 8 and 9 April.
In Jerusalem, the delegation is due to meet the Speaker of the Knesset, the Deputy Foreign Minister, the Minister of Science and Technology, and members of political parties represented in the Knesset. In Tel Aviv, meetings are scheduled at the Institute for National Strategic Studies.
Pietro Marcenaro (Italy, SOC), rapporteur on the Middle East, who will participate in these meetings, will be in the region from 28 April to 2 May to gather information for the preparation of his report.
