Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) President Anne Brasseur today called for a quick launch of the international investigation into the crash of the Malaysia Airlines aircraft in eastern Ukraine and urged both the Ukrainian and the Russian Speakers of Parliament to do their utmost to ensure that the members of Parliament of both countries as well as the respective authorities fully co-operate.
“It is extremely important to do everything possible in order to identify the exact circumstances of this crash, as well as the responsibilities,” she stressed in her written message to the Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Sergey Naryshkin, and the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Oleksandr Turchynov, whom she also urged to intervene with the competent authorities in order to accelerate the repatriation of the bodies.
