Valeriu Ghiletchi (Republic of Moldova, EPP/CD) and Stefan Schennach (Austria, SOC) will conduct a fact-finding visit to Paris on 11 September, as part of the preparation of an opinion regarding the request for the opening of a monitoring procedure in respect of France.
The co-rapporteurs will meet with parents’ associations, lawyers of people who filed complaints for illegal police violence or arrest during the Manif pour tous (demonstrations against the approval of the “Taubira law”), the French delegation to PACE, the public prosecutor of Paris, representatives from the Police Headquarters and organisers of the demonstrations.
