A 31-member delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), led by Iulian Bulai (Romania, ALDE), will travel to Poland from 16 to 19 May to observe the conduct of the presidential election on 18 May, alongside observers from the OSCE’s Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).
The delegation will meet representatives of candidates competing in the election, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, a representative of the Minister of Digital Affairs, the Chairpersons of the National Electoral Commission and the National Electoral Office, as well as representatives of civil society and the media, before observing the ballot on 18 May.
An expert of the Venice Commission – the Council of Europe's group of independent legal experts – will provide legal advice during the visit organised by PACE Elections Division.
A five-member PACE delegation made a pre-electoral visit to the country on 14-15 April, and issued this statement at the conclusion of the visit.
