Lord Boswell,
To ask the Committee of Ministers:
- What responses from member states they have received to
Recommendation CM/Rec(2009)12 concerning “Principles concerning
missing persons and the presumption of death”;
- How many member states have effective legal arrangements
for the presumption of death in cases of persons who are missing
(whether through suspected violence, catastrophes, or for any other
reason);
- What action the Committee of Ministers now proposes to
take to encourage adoption of the Principles by all member states.
