The Assembly,
1. Having taken note with interest of the report on the political consequences of the enlargement of the European Economic Community presented by Mr. Reverdin to the 19th Joint Meeting of members of the Assembly of the Council of Europe and members of the European Parliament (Doc. 3115) ;
2. Approving the ideas contained in the report, particularly concerning the future role of the Council of Europe,
3. Instructs its Political Affairs Committee to constitute, in consultation with the Bureau, a working party comprising five to seven members of the Assembly whose task it will be to contact the governments and parliaments of member States for the purpose of implementing the proposals contained in the report referred to above, in particular those concerning the role which the Council of Europe will have to play following the enlargement of the Community.
