The Standing Committee,
Acting on behalf of the Assembly in accordance with Order No. 185 ;
Considering that the European Centre of the International Council of Women is a highly representative organisation within its field and that its activities are such as to contribute towards the attainment of the closer union which the Council of Europe has laid down as its aim in Article 1 of its Statute ;
Considering that the aforesaid organisation possesses a wide competence in more than one major sphere of the Council of Europe's activities, namely in the social, economic, labour, public health, cultural and legal fields ;
Having regard to Articles 1, 2, 3 and 9 of the regulations governing relations between the Council of Europe and international non-governmental organisations,
Is of the opinion that the European Centre of the International Council of Women should be granted Consultative Status, Category I.
