In the draft resolution, paragraph 2, second sentence, delete the words "the circumcision of young boys for religious reasons".
Explanatory note
It wouldn't be appropriate for politicians to make comments on religous practices that have been observed by millions of Muslim and Jewish people for thousands of years. Male circumcision is recommended with plenty of scientific evidence, notably by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the World Health Organisation.

In the draft resolution, paragraph 7.4, replace the words: "where the limits with regard to violations of the physical integrity of children are to be drawn according to human rights standards, and at striking a balance between the rights and the best interest of the child and the rights and religious freedoms of parents and families;" with the following words: "the rights of children to protection against violations of their phycical integrity according to human rights standards;"
Explanatory note
Paragraph 7.4 suggested "striking a balance between the rights and the best interest of the child and the rights and religious freedoms of parents and families". There is no such balance as the rights of children to be protected from serious physical abuse is fundamental and non-negotiable.

In the draft resolution, paragraph 7.5.2, delete the words "such as the non-medically justified circumcision of young boys".
Explanatory note
Circumcision of boys is actually medically recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the World Health Organisation. Circumcision of boys should be conducted by experts in sanitary conditions as stated in the beginning of this paragraph. But it is wrong to call it a "non-medically justified" procedure

In the draft resolution, replace paragraph 7.5.3 with the following paragraph:
"undertake further research to increase knowledge about the specific situation of intersex people, ensure that no-one is subjected to unnecessary medical or surgical treatment that is cosmetic rather than vital for health during infancy or childhood, guarantee bodily integrity, autonomy and self-determination to persons concerned, and provide families with intersex children with adequate counselling and support."

In the draft resolution, delete paragraph 7.6.
Explanatory note
Religious values and practices should not be put into debate at political platforms. Otherwise, there are many other practices of all religions which can be taken into agenda. Therefore it’s not a matter of interdisciplinary dialogue between representatives of various professionals but it is simply a matter of religious practices.

Explanatory note
According to the UN Declaration against Intolerance and Discrimination Based on Religion, parents of the child have the right to organise life within the family in accordance with their religion or belief and bearing in mind the moral education in which they believe the child should be brought up.
