1. After the judgment was delivered on 28
November 2017, the case Merabishvili
v. Georgia was initially examined by the Committee of
Ministers at its 1310th meeting (March
2018) (DH). In view of the complex problem that this case raises,
the Committee agreed to classify it under the enhanced procedure.
2. The Georgian authorities submitted information in February
2018 on the applicant’s situation and in particular the various
criminal convictions against him (see
DH-DD(2018)181).
They further provided an action plan in June 2018 (see
DH-DD(2018)602)
on the individual and general measures taken and envisaged. These documents
are public.
3. The case is on the order of business of the 1331st meeting
(December 2018) (DH) of the Committee of Ministers, at which time
it will assess the information sent by the authorities.
