The Assembly,
Believing that the suspension of negotiations on the establishment of a Free Trade Area within the O.E.E.C. has created serious difficulties in the free world which must be overcome as quickly as possible;
Reaffirming its conviction that there is no insuper-able obstacle to new initiatives leading to the creation of a European Economic Association between the European Economic Community, on the one hand - whose right to define its destiny must be respected - and, on the other hand, the other member countries of the O.E.E.C, whose interests must be taken into consideration and who must be linked with the Community by practical forms of solidarity;
Believing that it can continue to make an important contribution in promoting public understanding in Europe of the problems involved in setting up the Association and of the possibilities which the Association would create both for greater economic prosperity in Europe and closer political collaboration among the Member States,
Instructs its competent committees to continue their work and to report again to the Assembly in due course.
