The Assembly,
1. Having regard to its Recommendation 1039 on the budgetary resources of the Council of Europe,
2. Requests the chairmen of the national parliamentary delegations :
2.1 Requests the chairmen of the national parliamentary delegations :
2.2 to take the floor in budgetary debates in theirnational parliaments, in order to urge that the Council of Europe be granted the budgetary resources essentialfor it to deal effectively with the new tasks that it has been asked to carry out ;
2.3 to consider whether it is appropriate for their national parliaments to make a financial contribution tomajor activities of the Parliamentary Assembly, such as the European Public Campaign on North-South Interdependence ;
3. Instructs its Committee on the Budget and theIntergovernmental Work Programme to organise, jointly with the Committee on Parliamentary and Public Relations, a meeting on the budgetary resources of the Council of Europe, with the participation of representatives of the finance and foreign affairscommittees of national parliaments.
