The Assembly,
1. Referring to its Recommendation 1106 (1989) on reception and settlement in the Federal Republic of Germany of refugees and resettlers of German origin coming from countries in Central and Eastern Europe ;
2. Considering that other Council of Europe member states are also faced with the problems presented by the arrival on their territory of refugees from countries of Central and Eastern Europe;
3. Recalling the duty of solidarity by which the Council of Europe member states are bound ;
4. Recalling its Recommendation 1076 (1988) on the role and activities of the Council of Europe Resettlement Fund for National Refugees and Over-Population,
5. Instructs its Committee on Migration, Refugees and Demography and its Committee on Relations with European Non-Member Countries, for opinion :
5.1 to gather detailed information on the situation of these refugees ;
5.2 to report on this question as soon as possible.
