The Assembly

Deplores that in the satellite countries of Central and Eastern Europe persons are still suffering persecution on account of their religious faith and beliefs ;Expresses its indignation that human rights and liberties, albeit theoretically acknowledged in official protestations and declarations, have in practice been violated and denied ;

Assures the subject peoples from the Baltic to the Black Sea of its sorrow and concern over their continued sufferings, both spiritual and physical, affirms its deep feeling of solidarity and fellowship with them and continues to look forward to the day when their liberties may be restored to them.
