The Assembly,
1. Having taken cognisance of the 3rd progress report of the International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (
Doc. 3106) and of the report of its Committee on Agriculture in reply thereto (
Doc. 3142) ;
2. Recalling its Recommendations 637 (1971) and 669 (1972) on relations between the Council of Europe and the Centre ;
3. Observing that these recommendations have not yet received any reply from the Committee of Ministers despite their urgency ;
4. Concerned at the possible effects of the Council of Europe's apparent indifference and of the slowness with which it seems to deal with problems concerning its relations with the Centre ;
5. Noting the contradiction between the progress recently made by the Centre's various institutes and the withdrawal of the more symbolic than effective financial support which the Centre received from the Council of Europe,
6. Once more urges its members to make representations to their governments with a view to securing a more favourable attitude on the part of the Committee of Ministers towards the International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies, one which ensures closer and smoother co-operation between the Council of Europe's various organs and the Centre.
