The Assembly,
1. Reaffirming the importance of close cooperation between Unesco and the Council of Europe ;
2. Noting the Unesco draft medium-term plan (1977-82), prepared for the 19th General Conference, and the objectives it outlines ;
3. Welcoming the efforts of Unesco to use cultural and social measures to supplement the economic changes called for under the watchword of a new world economic order, thereby enabling every member state to enjoy the benefits of development while retaining its cultural identity,
4. Calls upon its members :
a jointly to offer to co-operate at the 19th Unesco General Conference in all fields in which the experience of the European states is particularly significant, such as the transfer of technology, improvement of information and use of the mass media ;
b through increased information in their own countries, to inform their own peoples about the situation and problems of the developing countries, so as to relax tensions in the North-South dialogue and to promote an exchange of experience in the cultural and social fields.
