1. The Parliamentary Assembly refers to its Resolution 1362 (2004) on the situation in Cyprus.
2. It welcomes the initiatives of the Secretary General and the activities of the Council of Europe aimed at contributing to the reconciliation of the Cypriot communities and at facilitating, in the framework of the efforts of the international community, a fair and more functional, viable and lasting resolution to the Cyprus problem, respecting the principles and values of the Council of Europe.
3. The Assembly recommends that the Committee of Ministers envisage a more active contribution on the part of the Council of Europe to the search for a settlement in Cyprus.
