When the Committee of Ministers considered the written question submitted by Mr Omtzigt, it was pointed out that the conclusions of the preliminary report by the international Joint Investigation Team had been made public. The representatives of the two member States concerned reiterated the determination of their authorities to be fully involved in the efforts to establish accountability for the 17 July 2014 downing of the Malaysian Airlines aircraft MH17. To this end, they stated that they had submitted the required information to the Dutch Safety Board (DSB). Their respective competent authorities had informed the victims’ families of this in writing.
