REQUEST FOR INCLUSION IN THE AGENDA OF THE SESSIONQuestion included in the Agenda of the Session and referred to the Special Committee to watch over the interests of European nations not represented in the Council of Europe by the Standing Committee on 25th May, 1952. | Doc. 3 | 12th May, 1952
The Assembly,
Considering that the aims of the Council of Europe include the realisation and safeguard of those ideals and principles which are the foundation of the cultural heritage of Europe, a heritage common to all European States,
Recalling that in Resolution 14 (1950) the Assembly unanimously decided " that certain nations which arc precluded from participating in the work of the Council of Europe nevertheless form an integral part of Europe. "
Believing that the problem of diffusing the ideals for which the Coucil of Europe stands should be given further study,
Decides to include in its Agenda the following question :
" Means of improving the publicity given to the Council of Europe in European non-member States ".
Instructs the Secretariat-General to give assistance to the Special Committee to watch over the interests of European nations not represented in the Council of Europe in the preparation of a detailed Recommendation to be submitted to the Assembly during the Second Part of the Fouth Ordinary Session, concerning ways in which publicity may be given to the Council of Europe in European states which are not Members of the Council of Europe, and among exiles from these States.
