Noting that the Committee of Ministers have not yet transmitted their final reply to the request for information contained in Resolution 136 (1957) on the position of national minorities; that the then Chairman of the Committee of Ministers told the Assembly on 17th January 1958 t h a t the Committee's opinion on this Resolution, given in paragraph 53 of their report to the Assembly (Doc. 770), " is not to be understood as a refusal to give the Assembly the information for which it asks "; that the question was subsequently discussed in the Joint Committee on 28th April 1958 and that the Chairman of the Committee of Ministers expressed the hope in the Assembly debate on 29th April 1958 " that it will prove possible at our next session to propose a completely satisfactory solution ",
Wishes to ask the Committee of Ministers whether they have now finished examining Resolution 136 (1957) and whether they intend to transmit to the Assembly, in time for its next part-Session in January 1959, their answer to the request for information contained in that Resolution.
