This international treaty, upon adoption, will offer structured safeguards for lawyers against discrimination, harassment, and undue interference, and will set high standards for legal practice and professional associations. The Assembly regrets the absence of specific provisions on secret surveillance but remains satisfied with the draft convention's comprehensive measures and urges prompt adoption and implementation, proposing an amendment to exclude reservations to ensure full efficacy.
